This was a sentence which my mother taught me and which contains all of letters of the alphabet. This was a little “trick” called a “pangram” that could be used to improve one’s typing skills. There was also an alternative sentence she noted: “Now is the time for all good men to come to the aid of their party”. However, this latter lacks quite a few letters.
Which brings me to another subject. In my freshman year of high school we were required to take a class in typing. I never did memorize the numbers. This was taught by Brother Raymond, FSC. I hated it. I could see no use in learning to have to type. Why, script was perfectly fine with me. I didn’t do well in typing. I had fairly decent script and lettering. Yet, years later, and with improvement of my skills at the keyboard, I came to realize that this was the most useful course I ever took.
